A buyer may need 1,000 EVA cases in total but want the order divided into several colors, logo versions or interior layouts.
At first glance, the total quantity may appear to meet the supplier’s MOQ.
However, production is not always planned only around the total number of cases.
Different variants may require separate materials, artwork, cutting files or production setup.
At Bravie Case, we recommend showing the complete variant breakdown before quotation rather than discussing only the total order quantity.
Color Variants Can Have Separate Material Requirements
The exterior fabric, lining, zipper tape and other components are normally purchased before production begins.
If the order uses several colors, each color may need enough material to meet the supplier’s purchasing requirements.
For example, a total order may be large enough for production, while one special color represents only a small portion of the order.
That smaller color quantity may be more difficult to support than the total quantity suggests.
Standard colors are usually easier to arrange than specially sourced or custom-matched colors.
Different Logos May Require Separate Setup
A buyer may also want the same case for several brands, departments or product versions.
Depending on the branding method, different logo versions may require separate:
The EVA shell may remain the same, but the branding components still need to be planned separately.
Before quoting, provide the quantity required for each logo version.
Interior Variants Are More Significant
Changing only the exterior color is different from changing the interior layout.
If one version holds Product A and another holds Product B, the supplier may need different:
These versions may effectively behave like separate products even if the outside case looks identical.
Interior variants should therefore be identified clearly before sampling.
Use a Variant Quantity List
Instead of saying:
“We need 1,000 custom EVA cases.”
A more useful project brief would be:
- 500 black cases — Logo A — Interior Layout A
- 300 gray cases — Logo A — Interior Layout A
- 200 black cases — Logo B — Interior Layout B
This makes it easier to review whether every version is practical for production.
It also helps the supplier identify which differences affect material MOQ, setup cost or lead time.
Can Multiple Colors Be Combined Into One MOQ?
Sometimes they can, but it depends on the project.
Factors may include:
Buyers should therefore ask about the minimum per variant, not only the total MOQ.
Does Using More Variants Affect Cost?
It can.
More variants may create:
- Additional material purchasing
- Separate interior preparation
- Additional quality-control checks
This does not mean multiple variants are impossible.
It simply means the quantity split should be included in the quotation from the beginning.
